BMSTU Debating Society’s glad to announce section of English Debates. The world of debates is great, that’s why we don’t restrict ourselves to debates in Russia. Playing debates in the original language give you a chance to get in touch with traditional British Parliamentary.
For more than a year our Society conducts trainings in English and meanwhile achieves higher and higher results in this sphere. This helps us to raise the status of the University not only within the country but also on the international scene.
One of the most important aspects for us is to contact with other Universities famous for their strong debating traditions. Members of the Society often take part in variety of international championships in Russia and abroad. We also endeavour to exchange the experience with other Universities through trainings and regular games. That’s why English Debate is a great opportunity to make acquaintance with young people from other countries and communicate with them.
Moreover one of the biggest aims is the personal development of our members.
Debating improves your public speaking skills, logic, argumentation and erudition. In this case you’re also improving your English through enlarging your vocabulary and defeating the fear of foreign language.
